Meet the people & fur-kids of Angelheaded below!
Eliana Pires Janssen
Starting from a young age, Eliana used to show in the west coast hunter/jumper circuit. Trained by Becky Abeita, she worked as a working student for many years. From 16 till her early twenties she worked at Santa Anita Racetrack / Hollywood Park under Gary Mandella. This is where she also bought her OTTB Tyson for $1.

After college she started her own creative/photography company called Angelheaded Creative & worked in the the film industry until retiring and starting the farm.

Matthew Janssen
Although new to riding, co-owner Matt doubles as our handyman, fix-it man & horse belly scratcher extraordinaire!
You will often find Matt on his Quarter Horse, HUCK. Their journey together and bond grows every day. Previously an accomplished engineer Matt retired to the ranch full time in April 2020.

Irish Ty
Trained by Gary Mandella & ridden by Victor Espinoza, Tyson raced in Southern California until age 7. He was one of the TB's who loved his race career and breathed fire on the track.
After Eliana cared for him at the track, when his tendon started throwing some heat, his owner's sold him to Eliana for $1. He then became her heart horse and hunter/jumper. He now calls all the shots on the ranch.
