ANGELHEADED RANCH
RESCUE EFFORTS
We are happy to announce that we will be filing to become a 501c3 rescue in 2022.
As a sporthorse breeder, we feel it is our responsibility to save pregnant mares that go through the kill pen system. We've seen mares loosing baby from the stress & lack of care from her previous owners, we've seen mares foal out & the babies have complications, again, from lack of care. And the irresponsible breeding and lack of care has to stop. And we are here to help.
While we will always be around to network, fundraiser, and foster other rescues - our main focus will be pregnant mares & thoroughbreds as that is what we know & are set up for.

Molly
Molly was dumped at a kill pen; pregnant and in a malnourished state. In the time of her going through the system - she lost the baby. That's when we stepped in!
Rescued and brought to the ranch February 22nd, 2021, she remained here so that she could get the care she needed to be her happiest, healthiest self!

In April, Molly was adopted by the Stanley Family! The Stanley's were previous boarders of ours and when they moved their mare, Jolene, to a new property of their own they realized Miss Jolene needed a friend! We could not be more pleased with the placement and know Molly will be spoiled everyday for the rest of her life.

Heavy
While we were fundraising for Cindy (now Molly) the only other horse that hadn't been adopted & was headed for Mexico was, Heavy!

He captured our hearts, as well as the many donors who contributed to his bail. In an awesome turn of events, just one week after arriving he found his forever home! He is now living it up in CA, spoiled and happy!

CURRENT & PAST RESCUE HORSES

Dill & Pickle
UPDATE 012/01/21: DILL & PICKLE HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN ADOPTED TOGETHER!

Pickle came from the Elkhart Kill Pen, and after being passed over twice in two auctions she was headed for slaughter. That's when our rescue partners (The Little Farm Rescue & Anahata Sanctuary) and I rallied and jumped into action.

When we got to the lot, there was another very small 4 month old colt who had also not been sold. After an hour and a half of trying to separate Pickle from Dill to load her - we decided to bring Dill home as well!
Both of these babies have a long road to become healthy happy ponies as they were in TERRIBLE condition. Both rated as a 1 on the henneke scale they are still in active vet care as we try to get their weight up and other problems handled.
For a 501C3 write off, please Venmo @thelittlefarmrescue to help contribute to their ongoing care
